Isn’t it about time Live Exports were Banned? After horrific cruelty was found by the RSPCA Ramsgate suspended Live Exports. This was recently overturned in the high courts after a Dutch farmer challenged the decision. Exports began again soon after the High Court overturned the decision of Thanet council.
So in this time of Austerity money was found for police to escort the convoy of lorries carrying live animals, animals that were due to be slaughtered without stunning for the Festival of Eid. There were also more than 60 policemen at the e port to control a handful of demonstrators. Pictures here.
Oh and in order to avoid publicity the police tried to prevent Valerie Cameron from taking photos. Luckily another photographer was on hand to record the incident
